Abstract
The best treatment of the diseases involving the biliary tract including biliary stones and malignant tumors is surgical removal of the stones or tumors than medical treatment.
The extrahepatic biliary tract is in deep area of the abdominal cavity, so it is rare to be injured by external trauma, but the most of the cases of injuries are due to careless surgical mistakes which lead to the fatal result. These injuries are rare in the common operating process of biliary tract. But, when it is difficult to divide the porta hepatis due to adhesion, inflammation, severe pathologic change or anatomical congenital anomaly of the extrahepatic biliary tract, the extrahepatic biliary tract can be injured. So the surgeons must pay attention to those patients and must be careful to find where there is the congenital anomaly or not. Therefore technics to avoid fatal result during surgical procedure.
During surgical process on biliary stone, We experienced the congenital anomaly of extrahepatic biliary tract which had the cystic duct opened to the right hepatic duct and nonexistent the common hepatic duct. Now We report this case of congenital anomaly of the extrahepatic biliary tract with consideration of reports.
